Self-injury in high school students

| My team has also been collaborating with McLouth Research and Consulting (Kansas City) on the Kauffman Teen Survey. This is a large-scale health survey of lifestyle and health concerns for adolescents. This survey has been completed by over 7,000 high schools students and will be the largest study of NSSI in high school students in the world. It provides essential information concerning gender, ethnicity, health, family composition, SES, drug use, health risk behaviours, emotion regulation, and function of NSSI in youth. |
Self-injury in university students
Nancy Heath
| This study was initially conducted in two parts: (1) collecting data within university classes on coping strategies employed by young adults and (2) follow-up with young adults who have indicated that they engage in non-suicidal self-injury. After the completion of two rounds of data collection (2004-05 and 2005-06), we are now in the process of developing a third research phase involving in-depth follow-up interviews with approximately 80 self-injurers. |
