Researchers
Dr. Heath is a Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is the Director of Human Development and Inclusive Education, as well as being cross-appointed in the School/Applied Child Psychology program. Her research program explores resilience and adaptive functioning in youth at-risk; and some of her most recent work has focused on the understanding of self-injury in the schools. Dr. Heath has published and presented her work both nationally and internationally. In 2001, she was elected as Fellow in the International Academy of Research on Learning Disabilities for her work on social-emotional functioning of youth with exceptionalities. She is a founding member of the International Society for the Study of Self-injury (ISSS) and director of the International Self-Injury Research Network. In 2004, Dr. Heath was named a William Dawson Research Scholar at McGill (Internal Canada Research Chair-II) for her research contributions.Back to Researcher List |
